It there a good book on it? Not necessarily a game book.

I'm looking for a book(s) that cover graphics from hardware to theory to practical applications and the necessary math. Also something that covers the OpenGL core functions in detail with full program examples. Maybe the nvidia an ati extensions as well.

I've seen a lot of books on the subjects, but I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for and what to go with. I don't want to waste time on something to basic, but I don't want a book that talks about an obscure symbol from a language that's been dead for 10,000yrs and only 2 people in the last 1,000yrs has bothered to acknowlege it as existing.

Thanks in advanced.

Get Beginning OpenGL Game Programming and More OpenGL

http://www.amazon.co.uk/OpenGL-Game-Pro ... =8-2-fkmr0

http://www.amazon.co.uk/More-OPENGL-Pro ... =8-3-fkmr0

Those are the books I bought to get me really started with OpenGL and GLSL.

The Orange book is also great for GLSL. OpenGL Super Bible is good too.

Besides book, writing a lot of programs helps

plus go online to www.openGl.org and check their book recommendations

There isn't a best book, but get books that explain things properly.

Hope this helps.
