Can the OpenGL Game Engine be compiled on Mac? If so, which IDE should be used? Has anyone done this?

I am not real familiar with macs, however as far as I know to run c++ Mac's use X-Code. For its compiler, as for building, linking and debugging I have no clue. I hope this helps. The only other thing is any source code from this website that uses Windows code, you would have to replace with Mac's OS architecture. Other then that all the libraries should still build and compile. Since the graphics done on this website is OpenGL you should have no problems on mac. After so many videos through the Game Engine Series Marek removes the switch statements and the renderers for Direct X. This should not be a problem for you.

I guess it would use Cocoa in Xcode since Cocoa uses OpenGL.
Any thoughts Marek?

Just do a search for X-code programming and OpenGL and you should be able to find many examples online.

On developer apple dot com they explain drawing with OpenGL in Xcode using the Cocoa framework.

Maybe I will attempt to build an OpenGL game engine on Mac.

I was able to get an OpenGL 4.1 project going in Xcode on my iMac. Was able to do a simple vertex and fragment shader that draws a triangle. I am using GLFW for the windowing abstraction, and GLEW for extensions.
I will attempt to do the OpenGL GameEngine on mac now.
