I've finish this vmk, however, the ground only extends down approx. an inch past the triangles, then stops, leaving a white field the rest of the way down.

I've changed glTranslate(0.0f, -0.1f, -1.0) to glTranslate(0.0f, -0.3f, -1.0) and the ground stretches down but distorts the triangles. I've played with 1.0 thru -1.0 for the values and came up with some interesting views, but the same distortion in one form or another.

I then went to the triangle:

Vertex v1(-50.0f, 0.0f, -50.0f);
Vertex v2( 0.0f, 0.0f, 50.0f);
Vertex v3( 50.0f, 0.0f, -50.0f);

Long story short:

Vertex v1(-50.0f, 0.0f, -50.0f);
Vertex v2( 0.0f, -0.5f, 50.0f);
Vertex v3( 50.0f, -0.5f, -50.0f);

matches the vmk. Why such a difference? Is there a way to fix it?

I'm using VS 2008 express, XP sp3 and a Geforce 9500 GT (latest drivers). I've also compiled it with VS 6.0 pro and get the same results.

I fixed it. I had the 3rd param in gluPerspective set to 1.0f instead of 0.1f it should have been. :?

If nothing else, I got a good dose of vectors and triangles today :shock:
