In this video I show the initial code which we will use to load and store sprite data. This class will be updated in the next few VMK, but this simplified version will be good enough to get us started.

I'm in the middle of working on this vmk; I have one question. In your header file for sprite you have this for the constructor:

Sprite( const std::string& spriteSheetFile, const std::string& strId = std::string() );

Considering that the last parameter does have a default value should the constructor be declared as:

explicit Sprite( const std::string& spriteSheetFile, const std::string& strId = std::string() );

I'm able to compile and build out the project, now it's just a matter of time waiting to load in some Sprites!

nice catch skilz80. Yes the Sprite constructor should be declared explicit.
