What about using Borland compilers?

I have been having so much problems with Visual Studio when I left using VS 2005 but my last C++ class honestly was using Turbo C++ back in the day.

I wasn't sure if the newer Borland prducts are better or worse or even if they are even remotely compatable with VS C++.

Any ideas or thought on this?

I don´t know much about boreland compilers but i would prefer Code::Blocks as IDLE and GCC as a compiler. (yes, they can be used both on Win and Lin)

This combo is performing well (for me) both on Windows and Linux

What sorts of problems are you having? I migrated over to VS2005 so that I could take advantage of the reverse function call lookup. Plus it is a lot more stable than .NET 2003 I find. Now-a-days, I mainly use VS2008 although I have no idea what changed between 2005 and 2008.
