 Post subject: Terrain Manager

Once we get to the most recent version of the GLSL and have a fully functional engine; I would like to see some terrain generation or even a complete series on creating an application that is external to the engine that would allow you to create a terrain by adding textures, hightfields, deformations, etc and then be able to save it to a scene file and have the shader engine be able to parse and load the file in. Also, have a terrain manager in the shader engine that would load and save all the desired terrains and have an easy way to splice multiple terrains together to create an outdoor world. The application does not have to be of a professional level, but something that is full of nice features. A nice feature in the terrain generator / maker application would be to have dynamic rendering. A split screen; where the one is your workspace and the other is a real time renderer. What is nice about the Shader Engine is we can link to it to do the rendering so halve of the application is already done except for a few modifcations to commodate for the window space. This would really strengthen the foundation of programming. A very good reference would be in the directx 11 terrain series. Only the api is different but the concept is the same.
