FBX Parser Code & FBX-to-VMK Converter
The FBX Parser code is written with Microsoft's Visual C++ 2005. You will receive a video tutorial and source code showing how to parse an FBX file so that you can easily extract all its data.

FBX asset exchange technology facilitates higher-fidelity data exchange between several Autodesk content creation packages ”Maya, MotionBuilder, Mudbox, and 3ds Max products” and provides support for certain third-party and proprietary applications. Whether you are using FBX within an entertainment pipeline or as part of design production, files are more seamlessly transferred, more data is retained, and workflows are more efficient.

Features
See how to extract the following data from an FBX file.
  • Transformation data (global & local)
  • Scene graph hierarchy structure
  • Polygonal geometry data
  • Animation data
  • Bone & Skinning information
  • Vertex coordinates
  • UV Texture coordinates
  • Vertex normals
  • Material information (ambient, diffuse, specular, shininess etc)
  • Texture information
  • Texture transform data (translation, scale, rotation)

As a bonus you will also receive an FBX-to-VMK conversion program that will convert FBX files to the VMK file format used by the OpenGL game engine.

Demonstration Video
ImageView this youTube video to see how the FBX parser program is used to extract data from a file.

Additional Info
The video tutorial, source code and conversion program will be emailed to you after it is purchased from the store.

This FBX Parser code uses the FBX SDK v2010.0.2 and can extract data stored in an FBX file saved in version 2010.0.2 or earlier. If you have a newer version of the FBX SDK installed, you will need to modify the FBX Parser source code to get it to compile since Autodesk changed some of the API functions used in the newer FBX SDK.
